ASHLEY WHITE
Commitment creates Success
Almost 30 years ago, a horse mad little girl begged her non-horsey parents for a pony. On Pony Club Sunday mornings, Ash would sit out on the front verandah of her house and count the Horse floats driving past taking kids to pony club.
After much nagging and out of desperation, an old pony was borrowed from friends. Ash was able to go to her first Hastings District Pony Club Camp but only after committing to ride ‘Princess’ every morning before school for weeks prior.
With dedication, hard work and great support from family, friends and coaches, Ash went on to compete successfully at State, Royal and National level with her Ponies, Hacks and Australian Stock Horses.
Some proud Highlights: Australian Stock Horse Society National Junior Judging Champion at 15 years old, NSW State team at the Australian Interschools Championships, Age Group Point-Score winner 18-21 years at the Australian Stock Horse Society National Youth Show. Many years competing at Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane Royal Shows and the SHC Grand Nationals.
Some of Ash’s favourite memories are competing with her younger brother and sister at Local Shows and Campdrafts and being able to travel and enjoy the sport as a family.
Ash took a break from competition to complete her Bachelor of Business/Law at UNE and start her family, although horses have never really left the picture.
Fast forward to today, Ash has happily found her way back into the arena - and loves nothing more than sharing the journey with her two young boys.
Ash’s passion is contagious and her goal is to help the next generation build confidence with their horsemanship and become the Champions of Tomorrow.
